Services by Hospice Veterinarian

Hospice Veterinarian and Primary Care Veterinarian coordinate a unique care plan for each pet.

The Hospice Veterinarian educates and trains the caregivers regarding pain management, good nutrition, hydration, and medical support.

The Hospice Veterinarian trains the caregivers to give home care that insures their animal companion’s comfort and contentment.

The Hospice Veterinarian gives the Primary Care Veterinarian continual updates regarding the pet’s health and the family’s emotional needs.

Services by Hospice Social Worker

The Hospice Social worker meets with family members as appropriate to provide emotional support during final caregiving and decision-making.

The Hospice Social Worker is available to assist in the creation of ceremony either honoring the companion animal at the time of passage or memorializing the pet when the family is ready.

The Hospice Social Worker offers bereavement counseling, which may be individually, in a group, or for a family together.
Services
Hospice is end-of-life care for pet and family, provided by an interdisciplinary team that is  well-coordinated and has good communication.

The Hospice Veterinarian and Social Worker provide an individualized assessment regarding the medical care of the pet and the emotional support for the family.

When the time comes for a final act of caring, the Hospice Team respects the family’s values in creating together the blessing of a smooth passage.

This very special meeting creates the opportunity for people to talk about the loss of their pet, what their friend meant to them and how they are dealing with the grief and loss.  It's also a great time to share some memories, laughs and joys of their life together.  Everyone there will understand.  Registration is limited.
